Three months after winning CPL Winter 2004 in Dallas, the same five players went to Seoul for the first season of the World e-Sports Games.

The final

On 20 March 2005 elemeNt, Naikon, XeqtR, method and shaGuar met 4Kings in the final. NoA lost the first map, Dust2, 9–13. They answered with Nuke, 13–5, and took the decider, Train, 13–8. The prize was $50,000, the largest in the club’s history.

The roster mixed two Norwegian signings with three founding players. elemeNt had joined in April 2004; Liquipedia notes that NoA were the first esports team to pay for a player transfer out of a contract when they signed him. XeqtR came in September 2004.

The break-up

The title team did not last the summer. elemeNt left in April 2005 and fisker took his place. Naikon left in June, when NoA went on a break. In July shaGuar and method moved to Team 3D, and BrandTheGame took over the management of Team NoA.

XeqtR was the one who stayed. In August 2005 NoA announced a new Scandinavian roster around him as captain, with DarK, Red, speedi and Kixer, and new sponsors and branding. It played its first tournament at the CPL World Tour stop in the UK in September.

The WEG final, with a community upload of the match, is on the finals page. The five who won it are the 2004 squad, and the rebuild is the 2005 squad.
